Funnyman Richard PRyor died on Saturday, he was 65.
I think he was a seriously funny man, and a great double act with Gene Wilder. He was batling drug addiction and MS. My thoughts are with his friends and family, rest in peace dude. RICHARD PRIOR 1940-2005 |

The death I'm talking about it not that of a human but of a whale. Not sure what he was called. But its the whale who suddenly appeared in the Thames .after watching him/her on TV I really wanted it to survive when the news came that he/she had died it quite upset me. RIP Whale. In the end did they confirm what sex it was?

Also another dead one, a baby, was found further along the river.
Very sad news about both of them. |

I believe it was a mother and a baby....... This also shows that this is anything and everything in the thames, and how £100000 and 2 days cannot save two endangered speicies. I think this will give more awareness to endangered species, but more specifically - whales. |

The passing of the whales was extremely sad news. Naturally may they rest in peace, and at least now they are not suffering. I was hoping that they would have rescued them, but it was not to be. It has been a VERY long time since this happened last (a whale getting trapped there) so I wonder why this happened after all this time?

The whale was apparently a member of a pod which was spotted in the
Thames estuary last week. They think it got separated, confused and
started to swim the wrong way. It didn't stand much of a chance poor
thing.

on notes of the whale, yes it was part of a pod that had got stranded. It was female and was eventually nicknamed wilma (doreen by kitty). I personally think that the rescuers are to blame for its death, it was being hurt becasue it was being put onto hard surfaces, so the rescuers (after throwing rocks at it ????) removed it from the water and put it on a barge (makes no sense as a barge is a hard surface) It should have been kept in that floating device out to the sea. and the vets should have gone into the thames in wet suits.
Personally, this was a mess in my eyes. |

They should never have lifted it with that crane the way they did
either, looked like it was going to snap in 2 places. As well as the
fact that a whales own body will crush it's internal organs if it's on
land, won't have helped it much.

I am sad that she died, but maybe the conservationalists should have tried to have done things a bit slower and thought about things more. The Predators top trumps pack is right we are the worse and sometimes we dont even know it.
