yes i was about to say that when I lasted looked it was going for £10,100. I dont think it is disrespectful I think it shows how Britian is a loving country and people are willing to spent alot of money on something that was close to all of ourhearts for a weekend. If you didnt know it wsa going to pay for the parking fines they were given when trying to help it(parked on a brigde) But they have been cleared(i think that means they dont have to pay). The money is going towards the charity that saves marine animals, etc. etc. It wont have a funeral though, RIP Shamo(my nic name)

Has anyone heard about the bus crash in Germany? If you haven't, a lorry and two buses have collided. One of the buses was from my school. And two people have died. I might know them both so I'm in a state of shock.

R.I.P. To these two people.

Well we rang a friends mum and they are fine, but the girl sitting next to them has got whiplash and a broken jaw. They should be back tonight (The people that aren't seriously injured that is), so I might pop up to the school later on.

I have just thought of an idea I was thinking about people I could mention in this thread then I remembered that every 3 seconds someone dies of aids or HIV. It got me thinking then I thought TT and/or WM could do something to help raise money. Then I thought they could run a big charity event and there could be special auctions and the money raised could help to find research. There could be cake sales people could do sponsored events and WM could make a one-of pack that could be sold at the event again all the money raised could go to charity. There could be so many more possibilities also its another way for us to meet in real life.

EDIT- I know this isn't the place to post it and I'm sorry if it has been done before.

I applaud you highlighting HIV/AIDS. I have had 2 very close friends die due to ilnesses after thier immunity was compromised by AIDS/HIV.

I have been a fundraiser fir the Mercury PHoenix Trust for almost 10 years and also have folded over 2,000,000 red ribbons for World AIDS day...and I did 1,000,000 in 3 months!

So, I hang my head in silence and think of those who have died..and hope they find a cure soon.

RON GREENWOOD 1921 - 2006

A TRIBUTE TO A WEST HAM AND ENGLAND LEGEND
By Martin Peters

Without Ron Greenwood, England might never have won the 1966 World Cup.

He gave me, Sir Geoff Hurst and Bobby Moore our chance at West Ham at a very young age and we all played a key part in winning the tournament under Sir Alf Ramsey.

As soon as he got to West Ham in 1961 he pushed me all the way and the things he taught me took me through my career, which lasted 22 years.

Former England manager Ron Greenwood
Greenwood's spell in charge of England lasted from 1977-1982

I owe him a massive debt. I was only 16 or 17 when he arrived and he changed the whole shape of the club.

He brought with him an attitude to the game that had never been seen before, new ideas and a different style of play and he was very successful with it, in the mid-1960s especially.

He was a big fan of continental football, I know he went to Europe to watch teams train and play and he tried to bring all of that to West Ham.

The Hammers way of playing, I think they call it the Academy these days, is all down to Ron. He introduced it, and all these years later they are still trying to play that way - I think that would have made him very happy.

He was a studious man, a man who got you to do what he wanted and made sure you enjoyed doing it.

The running up and down the terraces went when he arrived, it was all about training with the ball and it made life so much more interesting for the players.

Ron was a great student of the game. His wife would probably tell you he took football everywhere, even when he went to bed at night.

He was that type of man - he looked in great depth at the game and tried to put across his values in the English game.

As for Ron, I think he was generally unlucky during his five-year stint as England manager, especially with injuries.

But the West Ham fans will probably always hold up Ron Greenwood as the best manager they have ever had and rightly so.
