Regarding the release of the Football Managers pack in its own right, I've just noticed that the pack design looks a bit different to mine (Yellow TT logo?)
Has anyone got this yellow cover card, or maybe its just a design they decided to change

What is the likelihood they changed the pack just because they know that collectors will now have to buy it?

A question to ponder and hopefully be answered by someone.
I have just received a couple of promo cardboard tuckbox Supercars pack which I believed to have been released in 2003 for the Weetabix promo. In fact I do have a pack of 2003 Supercars promo. However the ones I have just picked up have a release date of 2005 on the rear of the box.
Does anyone know if they were given away with anything else or where the origin of the 2005 promo was please?

I've also noticed that these cardboard tuckboxes have toptrumps.com on the flaps instead of the 2003 release which has playaday.com on the flaps. Any help?? Ta!

Hello everyone, I can tell you that the Simpsons vol. 2 pack released in New Zealand has toptrumps.com/nz printed on the card backs (which I don't think the UK ones do
 )This also means that the Australian pack will have .com.au printed on the backs of the cards. |

Had a bizarre experience at Tescos today. Had to buy a new pack of HSM as I don't have edition released by the Sun and I picked one up at random checking that it had the aforementioned differences. However, problems at the checkout as the pack didn't have a barcode, it said, For Promotional Use Only.
I got a bit excited by this (sad eh) but the check out person said she would get me another as this didn't have a barcode. They took it off me and gave me a normal one!! I had to go to the supervisor, who had to go to their supervisor for a decision to allow me to keep the promotional pack and return the barcoded one.
Anyway what a bit of good fortune. I haven't opened it to see if there's any surprises in it. I didn't have chance to look for more either as I was being haranged by a 4 year old. I'll go back later for that!! So here is the back of the pack - anyone else got one or seen one of these before?

Yeah, I thought that too but the back of that pack had Ms Ching rear visible and the bar code was on the tuck box - I checked that. I'm back to Tesco's tomorrow to look for some more - with two kids in tow!!

Just been back to Tescos and checked the back of every pack - got a few weird looks - no more promo packs though. I'm not gonna open it. I don't think it'll be any different to a normal pack and then I'd be annoyed!!

hi
does anybody know of any differences to the sharks pack ?
having a clean out, i found a second pack, which is slightly darker case colour than my other, and also one has one of those vouchers where you collect 5 and send of for something, and the other does not, instead having some kind of advert for top trumps!
this means the backs are both different as one says this pack does not contain a card to be used in the promotion ... and the other pack does now

Rogue's site has some interesting info:
"There is a noticeable difference between the 2001 release and the 2003 release. By putting a card from each on top of each other you will see that the 2001 cards have smaller corners, a smaller circumference"
Also, I guess as it was a classic pack its been through a few reprints etc. too, but its always interesting to get the different variants, such as the Weetabix tuckbox from 2003.

The German NBA pack:
includes Allen Iverson and Tracey McGrady (instead of Carmelo Anthony and Yao Ming) Also Barons and Corey rears are different to the UK version (they have the NBA Champions and Leaders Scoring) |

As Ian mentioned with the link. There were a number of variations also with the earlier case colours some darker some lighter. This must be something to do with the manufacture as the colours vary slightly. ANother thing about cases is that some are smooth and some textured. In respect to the corner circumfereces this is ever more noticeable with the US WM and Parker Brother packs and the US STT's. |
