Any chance of this being released on PSP?  I'm guessing not, but I have to ask.

Cool, a sharks and space pack! I would have thought that since the new wildlife pack made the predators pack obselete that would be more of a choice for a game but obviously not. Either way its cool!

A good article here from Jon Jordan at Pocket Gamer about the Dr Who game, available at Easter.

I was interested to read "the game will be visually based on the animated CBBC Doctor Who spin-off series The Infinite Quest, although the theme tune, sound effects and characters all come from the proper TV series".

It makes sense really, this is a good animation style and should suit the game nicely...

Microsoft: Xbox 360 is here to stay

Microsoft has revealed that it intends to stick with the Xbox 360 console for the immediate future instead of developing a new generation machine.

Robbie Bach, Microsoft's president of entertainment and devices, told the San Jose Mercury News: "Just coming up with something that's faster and prettier isn't going to be sufficient."

"The life cycle for this generation of consoles - and I'm not just talking about Xbox, I'd include Wii and PS3 as well - is probably going to be a little longer than previous generations," he explained.

Bach pointed out that the global economic downturn is also likely to play a part as consumers will be reluctant to make further large investments in new hardware.

"When you look at consumers, they are going to be more value-conscious," he said.

Sony has also recently stated that consumers will get "ten years of value" from the "future-proof" system of the PS3, reports Edge Online.

Klingon computer keyboards go on sale

Keyboards featuring the letters from the Klingon alphabet have gone on sale in Britain.

Designed for Star Trek fans who have learned to speak and write in the alien language, they are priced £43.99.

Developed into a full language by Marc Okrand, Klingonese was first devised by actor James Doohan for Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

"The Klingon keyboard is the first step in providing PC input devices for all Federation cultures and will aid communications between Earth and other cultures within the Federation that fall outside the domain of Starfleet command," said Cherry Electrical Products' Michael Groom.

"Of course, this keyboard demonstrates our capability to deliver custom keyboard designs, keycaps and layouts - whether on this planet or elsewhere in the universe."

It is reportedly the most widely-spoken fictional language in the world, and texts such as the Bible and the works of Shakespeare have been translated into the language.

YouTube content to become PS3/Wii compatible

YouTube has announced plans to make its videos available to PlayStation 3 and Wii owners.

The Google-owned company is currently optimising the YouTube TV site to provide content and navigation tools customised for a television screen.

"The TV Website offers a dynamic, lean-back, 10-foot television viewing experience through a streamlined interface that enables you to discover, watch and share YouTube videos on any TV screen with just a few quick clicks of your remote control," read a post on YouTube's blog.

The company has promised enlarged text and simplified navigation to make the website easily accessible on home consoles.

The PlayStation 3 version of EA's hit strategy Command And Conquer: Red Alert 3 is to retail on March 23.

News of the release was leaked when EA accidentally posted details on its online store. The PS3 port - dubbed the Ultimate Edition - comes loaded with platform-exclusive bonus material, including new multiplayer maps, video footage and the official soundtrack.

"The PS3 is a very powerful platform, and the extra time we have had in development has helped us create the ultimate console RTS experience, with better graphics, improved performance, a ton of extras and some nice exclusive perks that cannot be found on any other version of Red Alert 3," said David Seeholzer, development director at EA Los Angeles.

Red Alert 3 arrived on the PC in October and the Xbox 360 in November, receiving generally positive reviews.

Mario & Sonic back at the Olympics?
.
Mario%20&%20Sonic%20back%20at%20the%20Olympics?

Sega may be working on a Mario & Sonic game for next year's Winter Olympics in Vancouver, according to rumours.

A report published in Spanish gaming magazine Nintendo Accion has suggested that the developer is working on Mario & Sonic At The Winter Olympics for the Wii and DS.

The title would follow the hugely popular Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games, which was based around the 2008 event in Beijing.

A sequel is considered logical due to the success of the first game, which ELSPA/Gfk-ChartTrack placed as the fifth best-selling individual unit of 2008.

However, Sega has since responded with "no comment, I'm afraid" when asked about the rumours by Eurogamer.

HMV investing heavily in games
.
HMV%20investing%20heavily%20in%20games

HMV has pledged further investment in games after the sector accounted for 21% of its sales over the Christmas period.

The retailer enjoyed a 3% like-for-like sales growth during the ten week period, which it has called its "best ever Christmas".

"Games represented 2% of our total sales mix over Christmas," CEO Simon Fox told MCV.

"They grew in total terms year-on-year to close to 25%. We saw good growth across all platforms and our top sellers reflected the market: Call Of Duty, Guitar Hero and Mario Kart Wii."

The executive also said that he is "deadly serious" about the sector and expressed his desire to inherit games customers from credit crunch victims Woolworths and Zavvi.

Indiana Jones coming to Wii, DS and PSP
.
Indiana%20Jones%20coming%20to%20Wii,%20DS%20and%20PSP

Indiana Jones And The Staff Of Kings will still arrive on the Wii, DS and PSP despite the shelving of its PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 ports.

Lucas Arts originally previewed the title back in 2006, but the whip-wielding archaeologist's next console outing looked dead in the water after the PS3 and 360 versions met their fate.

A new trailer for the game has just arrived on YouTube, confirming that it will still go ahead on the DS and PSP, with a Wii version also in the pipeline.

The YouTube footage gave little away regarding gameplay or storyline, but revealed backdrops including a jungle, a temple and an Asian backstreet.

Report: Video game sales overtake DVD

.

Report:%20Video%20game%20sales%20overtake%20DVD

New research has revealed that worldwide revenues from the sale of boxed video games exceeded that of Blu-ray and DVD during 2008.

Video Business outlines a report compiled by Media Control GfK International which indicates that worldwide sales of packaged media closed at around $61 billion (£43.8 billion) in 2008.

DVD and Blu-ray accounted for 47% of the figure but video games sales surpassed them to represent 53% of the total.

Gaming software sales also climbed by 20% during the year to reach $32 billion, while DVD and Blu-ray fell by 6% to $29.8 billion.

Nintendo's hugely successful Wii console was identified as a contributing factor to the trend, alongside the ongoing transition from DVD to Blu-ray.

The analysis firm also believes that video games could rise again to account for 57% of all boxed product sales by the close of this year.
