ITV News has announced that it will officially unveil its new look for all national programming next month.

From November 2, ITV will drop Big Ben from the News at Ten title sequence as part of a radical overhaul designed to boost viewing figures.

News at Ten's famous Big Ben 'bongs' will be retained in the new title sequence but the clock face will disappear.

ITV executives believe the imagery may be too London-centric and could irritate viewers outside the capital.

Incredible to see that the controversial appearance of BNP leader Nick Griffin on Question Time last night saw it record the highest viewing figures in its 30-year run, with a peak audience of 8.3m (52.4%) tuning into BBC1.

Question Time was the third most watched programme of the day behind BBC1’s EastEnders, which had 8.7m (39.6%) between 7.30pm and 8pm.

The BBC Trust has rubber stamped an extra £25.5m for the BBC’s children’s budget over the next three years.Clap

The funding will assist programmes like The Sarah Jane Adventures, Horrible Histories and My Almost Famous Family, which may have been at risk as a result of pressures on budgets.

Good news for Doctor Who fans as it look like Sarah Jane Adventures would produce another series after all.Clap

Ah, I won't record that then as I hate spoilers.

I've been flicking through the tv magazine for next 7 days to see if I want to record something...

I might consider recording.....

Monday 26 Oct BBC1 midnight
The Apprentice USA 1 and 2 of 15
Donald Trump is a lot better than Sir Alan Sugar.

Wednesday 28th FIVE 8pm
Britain's Best Brain 1 of 8
Sound like a Krypton style game show programme?

Anyone else have any interesting suggestions that I might record to my box?

The last Formula One race is on Sunday to be aired on BBC1 but are they showing another year or on different channel?

Johnny Briggs has revealed that he would be interested in returning to Coronation Street in the future.

I thought Mike Baldwin was killed off following a heart attack in 2006?

I guess maybe he could play Mike's evil twin one day, just like Dallas character Bobby Ewing!

It did work where he came out of the shower as someone else!

Your pm box is full Medusa, but please bear in mind that, in general, posts relating, in graphic detail, to post-watershed shows generally won't be appropriate for these threads.

Thanks, Ian.

I had to remove this message because the programme I might be watching is after 9pm and post-watershed rules here.

I'm now aware of that for next time. Unhappy

Sorry about that folks.

I didn't know that Roy Cropper aka David Neilson from Coronation Street
moved to Barcelona in 2002 to escape people reminding him of his Coronation Street character!

He commutes between Manchester and Spain with his wife because he feels he can get away from the limelight.

He is a diehard Leicester City football supporter. Maybe he was born there just a guess.

I have recently been watching Stargate Universe on Sky1. It is based less on aliens, unlike the predecessors, and more on basic survival on the ship. I like it a lot more than the other series' too.

Not a bad programme, Robert Carlyle is the only one worth watching.

True Blood on Channel 4 is my favourite at the moment.

Hot off the Twitter from Phil Jupitus is the news that David Tennant is presenting an 'episode' of Never Mind The Buzzocks to be broadcast at a later date.

The music 'quiz' show was recorded last night.

To be shown around Christmas, also in are Catherine Tate.

Check out David Tennant's Twitter:

Good grief me! The trailer of the Wolfman is mindblowing which is due to be released in cinemas around March next year (I think!)

Check out the trailer here and tell us what do you think. (Okay for a peek trailer suitable viewing due to film guidance approval from the BBFC but not the whole film itself though).

Interesting to hear that car manufacturer Renault has announced plans to launch its own dedicated channel on the Sky platform before the end of the year.

The channel is expected to feature content for Renault's Driving the Change campaign, which aims to promote a new range of electric cars.

Extraordinary! Unbeliveable!

Presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly have signed a two-year golden handcuffs deal with ITV worth £20m.

The deal will see each receive £5m a year for two years, taking their existing handcuffs contract to the end of 2011.

Did you know that Paranormal Activity was filmed in one week?

The director even filmed the whole movie in his own home! It was filmed two years ago and was just released last month so what's the delay?

I hear a rumour that Stephen Spielberg made a suggestion to change the ending of the film?

Sequel is being planned.

I'm shocked to hear that former Casualty star Simon MacCorkindale is battling terminal cancer.

Doctors gave him five years to live when he was daignosed with the disease in 2007.
