Great performance from Stacey & Jean.
I know Syd doesn't like Stacey, but being a nurse you would think she would show some compassion and know that Stacey is ill. Why didn't Mo & Charlie rush over? Ronnie... Boring! Ah well never mind, roll on next week folks! Edited by Medusa - 10 October 2009 at 19:45 |

Does anyone know whether this is true?
A little bird emailed me saying that Eastenders now costs on average per year just under £44 million to produce the programme, this is the new budget which averages around £205k an episode for 208 episodes per year which you will find includes 8 extra episodes per year including the two twin episodes on Christmas/New Years day should they fall outside a normal showing day. Be aware that the cost per episode includes the salary ratio of every cast member and staffer on the show from exec producer through writers to props people as well as stunts, petrol and wardrobe/props cost etc. June Brown aka as Dot is earning £570,000 per year! (Checked with Wikipedia to verify this). An old article from the Sun back in 2006 about stars wages: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article42562.ece If this is all true then anyone can enlighten me more revealing facts behind the scenes? We all know that Archie would be leaving soon but not how he would be written out.
Can we all have an agreement that we should have no spoilers here? We all know that Heather's baby story is coming up so I do not want to know who is the father until the very moment on screen. I hate spoilers and I hope you do too, I had no idea that Stacey got sectioned so that was a defining episode last week. Would you back my request or would I have to stop reading this thread to avoid finding out the answers? Don't worry Stamper, I know you're a massive fan and I don't blame you for wanting to share the gripping news. Edited by Medusa - 15 October 2009 at 15:17 |

How about we use the Spoiler tag like I do to show spoilers. Type [ S P O I L E R S ] without the spaces and close with a / before the S. That way, you don't have to read them.

I read somewhere that there should be more storylines involving the Internet should they appear in UK soaps, in an effort to get offline Brits online.
Reason? Said that people on lower incomes see the value of buying a computer when they discover the cost-saving measures they can take online. For a moment I do not believe that at all. |

Today's episode, had to laugh that to see Shirley charged £2.99 for a 99 ice cream cone!
How come the ice cream van be allowed on the premises, presumably need a licence for it? Am I missing something? Edited by Medusa - 15 October 2009 at 23:18 |

On today episode about Ronnie.....could her quest for a baby, and sleeping around a lot,
lead her to be Eastenders next AIDS's victim, and apart of a
controversial storyline.
Cos, I was just thinking if she slept around more on a quest for this baby, what could happen? So she hasn't heard of a sperm bank? Eastenders has completely ruined Ronnie's character, she use to be one of my favourites but now I can't stand her. She was once a strong independent women, now she's just a crazy bunny boiler. |

Eastenders prroducers have introduced a limit on the number of speaking parts in each episode.
Because of budget cuts, only 16 characters will appear in each instalment of the soap. It was to control their budget they've been working to an average of 16 actors per show. It's a bid to save costs. Sound like a bad idea! I would simply leave Friday's episode out and keep Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for now. Surely 3 is more than enough? In the old days Eastenders was only transmitted twice a week - Tuesdays and Thursdays. Edited by Medusa - 19 October 2009 at 17:10 |

Here a chance for you folks if you want to go and see......
Former Eastenders stars Kara Tointon and Joe Swash are to appear in panto together. The real-life lovers, who played siblings Dawn Swann and Mickey Miller on the Walford soap, have landed roles as Snow White and Prince Charming at Bristol's Hippodrome theatre.

An excellent episode last night.
I thought I would hate Heather giving birth but I thought it was a scream! Poor Patrick, ending up as Heather's birth partner! He looked panic stricken, like a rabbit caught in the headlights. And Heather repeating George Michael facts and making Patrick join in singing 'Wake Me Up Before You Go Go'. Him on the gas and air and her going bright red - I'm not surprised the midwives were laughing! Best soap birth since Honey? Pat and Peggy had me in stitches in that ice cream van! Ugh ... sherbet??' - classic! I loved it that they were SO drunk they were saying 'I love you' to each other and dancing in the van. When Phil came along it was role reversal with him being the angry parent! They'll probably be high and tearing around for days after all those E numbers in those sweets! Could have been worse though - they could have ate the sherbet! Can't say I care one way or another about Darren and Libby's engagement. There was too much other exciting stuff happening! And did they have to bring back the Victor Meldrew that is Adam. His miserable mug spoiled an excellent episode? And finally, Heather Trott you had me almost in stitches with that little monologue to baby George near the end. Almost as good as Del Boy's in Only Fools and Horses years ago - and that's the biggest compliment I can give it. Edited by Medusa - 21 October 2009 at 11:20 |

"OH NO YOU OFFICIALLY AIN'T!"
You just have to love Denise. Simply fabulous. I liked the way we saw all the dads as Heather was talking about that fateful night, even though most of the description was fantasy rather than the truth! Linda Henry was also fantastic when Shirley let rip at Heather for not being honest with her. I think this pair are actually my favourite double act on the Square at the moment. Good episode. Roll on tomorrow folks! |
