It is no surprise that Top Trumps done a pack on World Cup 2010 and as for the Olympics pack.....well I must say that I'm a bit surprised with the timing as there is no Olympics going on next year.

However I did make a plea earlier this year in the 'pack suggestions' thread that I would like to see a pack on this but for London Olympics 2012.

Maybe someone took note of it and thought it was a good suggestion I hope.

The Olympics is no doubt a huge thing so I hope that they haved considered the pack wisely, carefully produced and not rushed it.

Unless a second pack specially made for London Games.............

Quite unfair that Top Trumps releasing two tournaments at the same month for £45 and not to forget that all the football packs too.

I would have spread it out over month by month as many people would not be able to afford to splash out all at once?

I'm so bewildered about the Star Wars version, what is really in it? They could have instead put a single Star Wars pack in the 1st tournament and take one pack out therefore no need to release the 2nd tournament?

The plot thickens!

I have to agree. Star Wars has been covered in every which way imaginable. I too think there is no need for a tournament set but money does talk!!

I have got to say that Star Wars may have been done to death as far as Top Trumps packs but there is always room for MORE & MORE & MORE... well in my life anyhow...Geek

Just heard that "Star wars will be exclusive on and offline with HMV until Jan 1 when it will also go in the PTT shop"

Dear Top Trumps Subscribers 

We thought you would like to know that the Top Trumps Tournament product is going to shops now. 

We will not be sending it out automatically to subscribers due to its price tag, but it is available from our PTT online shop…… 

The Star Wars Tournament product will initially be sold exclusively at HMV, but we expect to sell it in our online shop from January 2010.

Top Trumps Tournament is available for pre-order from the PTT Store.
 
Star Wars Top Trumps Tournament is a HMV exclusive until early January 2010, from then onwards it will be available from the PTT store as well - although I'm guessing it made an early appearance in the PTT store for those few hours in error Embarrassed

Ah right, I was just assuming that the Star Wars would instead be rescheduled for January but the 1st Tournament would be available for now in the shop. Blimey I get confused sometimes!

Yep I am happy with it for my £20.  It's 6 brand new 30 card decks of Top Trumps in card tuckboxes.  Along with a cardboard spinner, some big bits of blue plastic and some little bits of yellow plastic in a nice drawstring bag if you want to play their tournament game.  But you don't have to, you can just play with the 6 Top Trumps titles if you'd rather.   Contrary to what it says earlier in this thread the packs included are...
Movies
TV
Pop Stars
WOW
Top Toys
Sporting Heroes
...WOW is wonders of the world if you were wondering.  There are plenty of interesting choices in all the packs, subjects from the past as well as plenty from the present.  A neat touch is that the sides of the inner box the game comes in has loads of cool pictures of Top Trumps packs past, present, and worldwide on it - 40 in total.
Owner of more packs of Top Trumps than I can count...
