Apparantly, now that Coronation Street is being transmitted in glorious High Definition, Bev
Callard (Liz Macdonald) has been told that her cleavage is now too big
for High Definition and has been told to cover up!
Anyway here is the source... http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/showbiz/838331/Liz-McDonalds-cleavage-has-been-barred-because-its-too-eye-popping-for-HD-TV.html |

I am glad that the episodes weren't shown last week.
I must admit, I felt a bit sick when Tony was pointing the gun in the faces of his hostages, all I could think of was... well, last week. I don't think I need to say any more. |

Tony Gordon and Nick Cotton - seperated at birth!
I must admit though, his insults and remarks are brilliant, Tony always had a way with words! |

Nice to see ITV proving me right with their pathetically hypocritical
warning about the gun in tonights first episode.
Especially after all the news coverage of the shootings and that tonight special that came, oh, right before it. "Tonights episode features....a gun!" The first episode was better than Mondays, but that wasn't difficult. But still Carla and Hayley weren't afraid of the gun enough to stop them from shouting the place down. Becky wasn't afraid of the gun either. In fact once everyone went over to the factory nobody seemed that bothered about Tony having a gun, not even Roy. Everyone that is except gossip corner with Fiz, Julie, Sean and Janice. Who for some reason, despite working at the factory, managed to not hear a single detail from loudmouth Becky about Tony holding Carla hostage over at their workplace. From a personal point of view the drama was non existent because I simply don't care for Carla. She's a completely unsympathetic character. Roy and Tony's scene was alright. I did think the stand out line of the episode was Tony's "I'm a bad man." The fire and explosion was impressive and Gray O'Brien was much better. Farewell Tony, you shall be missed, but this wasn't your finest moment for me. |

I was amazed that Carla showed sympathy for Hayley, begging Tony to let her go.

Hayley was interesting during that hold up Solar Dragon.
She was very manipulative of the situation and knew which buttons to push and could prove she keep control in a crisis. Credit to her for her skills during these scenes, can't have been easy. |

See how the spectacular siege stunts were filmed in backstage video.
The factory inferno was one of the most expensive stunts in Corrie history. See how the cast and crew dealt with fire, explosions and guns. http://www.itv.com/soaps/coronationstreet/thesiege/ Edited by Medusa - 10 June 2010 at 22:02 |

Congratulations to Emily and Rita - Eileen Derbyshire and Barbara Knox for being awarded - MBEs.
![]() About time for this they are wonderful actresses. Well deserved. Any scene involving Rita & Emily in the Rovers is Coronation Street at it's best. Long live them. I wonder if Ken Barlow will be made a Sir in the New Years Honours? After he reaches his 50th Year at Coronation Street. Edited by Medusa - 12 June 2010 at 12:46 |

Did Coronation Street have World Cup scene's in 2006?
Ive been watching Coronation Street for over 10 years but can't remember. In France 98 I remember they had scene's in the Rover's with Martin Platt talking about a match or result. It was quite generic and rubbish. It would look silly if Carla and Trevor turned back up on the street not stating the result! |

I was loving the "Princess Leia" thing Mary had going on last night!
![]() She's a great asset to Coronation Street, and her character works well with others: so good to have some humour and good acting. Barmy and frightening woman, especially when she elbowed Tina out of the way! I like a bit of Mad Mary, but I hope they don't overdo it. Once or twice in a week would be enough for me! Is she now a regular does anyone know? |

I thought she was quite funny too, her and Norris go well together, as two of the funniest characters in the show.
![]() I thought her moment in the corner shop with Gail was also quite a funny too, when she talked about losing the fiver she bet against her in the trial, right in front of her! ![]() |

1) So John went to a conference because he has a list of
names so he knows who will be there.
What about anyone who may know Colin Fishwick? John doesn't know if there will be anyone there who knows him! 2) Also back on on Monday John said it would be ok for Chesney as he had been re-entered for the exams he had missed. Just when was he re-entered and when is he going to take them - not this Summer and he is going to be leaving school after that so he cannot retake them in the November session? 3) I've probably just slipped my mind, but when did Deirdre start working at the bookies? I thought it was just Leanne and Peter? |

2. He will be allowed to retake next summer, even if he has left school.
3. It was when she was asked to help out as Peter and Leanne were busy that day. She must have stayed on full time. |

I would really like if the writers let John and Fiz have a normal married
life, and maybe a kid, without the need for the ridiculously far fetched
storylines they have been giving John.
Sadly, though, I think they have written him into a corner and it will take a scriptwriter's miracle to save him. I don't think the woman teacher will betray him outright, but she will be asking a price for her silence and there will be more plot stupidity before the end. |

Coronation Street bosses are lining up Liz Dawn for one last appearance
as Vera Duckworth when hubby Jack leaves the show... despite her
character dying two years ago.
The legendary Vera Duckworth will make her return as a ghost on the ITV1 soap, in what has to be one of the most unbelievable stories Corrie writers have ever come up with. Battleaxe Vera left hubby Jack behind when she passed away in her sleep but producers want her to come back as a ghost for when Jack leaves the cobbles in December after his 31-year stint on the show comes to an end. Jack - played by Bill Tarmey, 69 - is expected to be involved in a major storyline to give him a fitting exit, to coincide with Corrie's 50th anniversary. Liz, 70, who first appeared in Corrie in 1974, left the show in January 2008 after being diagnosed with incurable lung disease emphysema. A Corrie insider told The Sun: "The scriptwriters have been trying to come up with a fitting end for Jack and the ghost idea has become a big hit among the crew." Jack left Weatherfield earlier this year with new love Connie Rathbone after actor Bill went into semi-retirement due to health problems. But he will make a return to Weatherfield before leaving completely. This is just one of the new storylines producers have thought up to spice up the show ahead of its anniversary. We will also see transsexual Hayley Cropper's wedding to long-term partner Roy and William Roache's sons appear as part of his character – Ken Barlow's - storyline. |
