Top Trumps Tournament
Forget Chelsea v Bayern Munich in the Champions League final, the only match that matters this Saturday is the Top Trumps Tournament Grand Final!
The year is 2012, and this year’s Tournament is all about the Olympic Games – the Grand Final takes place in the Stadium Suite in John Lewis, Stratford, overlooking the Olympic Park itself. Continuing the London 2012 theme, the number of finalists is – yep, you guessed it – twelve.
Tens of thousands of school kids entered, but now we’re down to our final would-be champions, whittled down over hundreds of games of the London 2012 edition of Top Trumps Tournament. They’ve seen Jess Ennis outrun Usain Bolt, Daley Thompson outdo Michael Johnson, and Steve Redgrave’s gold medals trumping all but Michael Phelps (crikey, that man has won a lot of golds).
Speaking of Sir Steve, the greatest Olympian in history himself will be presenting the prestigious Top Trumps Tournament trophy to our lucky winner. And as if the trophy wasn’t enough of a prize, the Grand Final winner will also get to go rowing with Redgrave in what is a money-can’t-buy, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
We’ll bring you news of the winner next week. Good luck to all our finalists!
